Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time, two-person couple) reside on-campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA to care for and mentor a group of 8–13 students in a home-like setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-on, three-off schedule (consecutive days on duty) and transitions to a placed houseparent living with the same students. Requires a two-person married couple, ages 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and experience with youth; involves living on-campus and maintaining a safe, substance-free environment.
Required Qualifications
- Two-spouse married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples
