Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School located in Hershey, PA. Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent role for married couples to reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, supervision, and guidance for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person (approximately $44,768) with total compensation around $168,000 per couple, relocation assistance, comprehensive insurance, retirement options, paid time off, and other benefits. This role requires two spouses to apply individually, with relocation to the Hershey, PA campus as part of the position.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in devotions and Chapel
- Two-spouse, married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
