Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time) for Milton Hershey School: couples reside in on-campus student homes guiding 8–13 students, providing supervision, mentorship, and care. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Initially nine days on duty followed by three days off; eventually transition to a placed houseparent living with the same group. Salary per person $44,768 with comprehensive benefits; relocation assistance and paid training provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for legally married couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
