Job Summary
Houseparents (full-time) for married couples living on an on-campus student home at Milton Hershey School. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, budgeting and reporting, and maintaining a family-like home environment. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with a transition to a placed houseparent living in the same student home. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, comprehensive health coverage, retirement savings, PTO, and housing/meal provisions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA (relocation assistance provided)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
