Job Summary
Houseparents duties for married couple: live on-campus in student homes to supervise 8–13 students, provide care and guidance, manage household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan development and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and chapel attendance, oversee budgeting and reporting, with a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle before transitioning to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students; includes relocation to Hershey, PA, full benefits, and two-person employment requirement.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
