Job Summary
Houseparents are a two-person, full-time role for legally married couples living on Milton Hershey School’s campus in Hershey, PA. The position provides care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students in on-campus homes, including daily supervision, mentorship, medication administration, transportation to activities, planning and participating in developmental and recreational activities, and leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. The role progresses from initial support of various student homes on a nine-days-on/three-days-off schedule to a Placed Houseparent assignment with a consistent student home. Duties include budgeting and household reporting, driving, and facilitating a structured, family-like environment to foster students’ academic, emotional, and social development. Qualifications include youth experience, a high school diploma or GED, U.S. driver’s license with the ability to drive student vans, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
