Job Summary
Houseparents, Full-Time: married couples live in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School and provide care, supervision, and activities for a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a placed Houseparent role living with the same student group. Includes relocation to Hershey, PA, with relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits. Salary is $44,768 per person (~$168,000 total per couple) plus benefits and housing.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
