Job Summary
Houseparents are a two-person, full-time on-campus role at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, residing in student homes to supervise 8–13 students, provide care and mentorship, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan developmental/recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and manage budgeting/household reporting. The position begins with a nine-on, three-off schedule, transitioning to a Placed Houseparent in the same student home. Relocation assistance is provided along with comprehensive benefits. Salary is $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple when including housing/meal benefits). Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a legally married two-person couple for at least two years, both spouses aged 27 or older, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus with limited dependent children; experience with youth is preferred. Both spouses must submit individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Two-person employment applications completed individually by each spouse
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- On-campus residential role with housing and meals provided
