Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time) for Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, are a two-person, married-couple role living on campus to supervise and support groups of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role initially supports multiple student homes on a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule and may transition into a placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Requires youth-related experience, a valid U.S. driver’s license, the ability to drive student vans, high school diploma or GED, willingness to lead devotions, and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Sunday Chapel services
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
