Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: Full-time, on-campus role serving as Flex Houseparents for groups of 8–13 students in student homes. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role. Schedule initially comprises nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; later moving to the same student home. Benefits include salary per person with relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid time off. Requires a two-spouse, married-couple arrangement with both spouses completing individual applications; on-site housing and relocation support provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
