Job Summary
Two-person, live-in Houseparent role for student homes at Milton Hershey School. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person, comprehensive insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid time off, and on-site housing and meals.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- To consider, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
