Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, providing care, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role follows an initial nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule and may transition to a placed houseparent role living with the same student group.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse, legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Willingness to reside on-campus in student homes
- Complete individual employment applications for both spouses
Additional Requirements

- No more than three dependent children in the home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Valid U.S. driver’s license required
