Job Summary
Houseparents, Full-Time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, reside in on-campus student homes with a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning/developing developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role operates on a nine days on / three days off cycle, with eventual placement into a stable, same-houseparent assignment. Benefits include salary per person around $44,768 with comprehensive medical/dental/vision, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid time off, and more. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, two-year-married couples, both spouses aged 27+, valid driver’s license and van-certification readiness, comfort leading devotional activities, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; candidates must be prepared to relocate to Hershey, PA and live on campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; ability to model positive behavior for students
