Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time) for Milton Hershey School: a two-person, married-couple role residing on campus to supervise and support 8–13 students in a home setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, medication administration, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, coordinating student schedules, budgeting and household reporting, driving students to activities, and leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Relocation to Hershey, PA is provided; benefits include comprehensive health coverage, retirement options, paid time off, and relocation assistance. Both spouses must complete individual applications. High school diploma or GED required; driver’s license and ability to drive student vans; capability to lift up to 50 lbs; strict campus policies on smoking, weapons, and alcohol; religious devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel participation are expected.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Legally married for at least two years (two-person role)
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
