Job Summary
Two-person married-couple full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. They reside in on-campus student homes and supervise 8–13 students, providing care, mentorship, and support to foster academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students in their own home. Relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits are provided; salary is paid per person. Requires a high school diploma or GED and a two-year married partnership, with both spouses aged 27+ and a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Proseltytizing prohibition (ability to lead devotions and Chapel with appropriate behavior)
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Ability to live on-campus in student homes and work a 9-on/3-off cycle
- Participation in individual employment applications by both spouses at MHS
