Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes to supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines, administer medications, drive to activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, with a nine-on/three-off schedule before transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role with the same group of students. The position includes relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits; requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license (and ability to become certified to drive student home vans), and a commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus. This is a two-person, legally married-couple role, with both spouses aged 27+, and no more than three dependent children in the home.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for legally married couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role modeling for students
- Higher level of commitment required; married for at least two years
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
