Job Summary
Houseparents provide care, supervision, and guidance for a group of 8–13 students in on-campus homes. The role is a Full-time, two-person position for legally married couples who will reside in student homes, with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, and eventual placement as a consistent pair in a single student home. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, conducting daily devotions and Chapel attendance, budgeting and reporting, and ensuring a safe, structured, family-like environment. Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and strong integrity; relocation assistance and paid training are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
