Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus to supervise and mentor 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include daily supervision, care and guidance, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role begins with a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule and progresses to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required, and benefits include comprehensive medical/dental/vision, retirement options, paid time off, relocation assistance, and housing/meal provisions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
