Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time) live on-campus at Milton Hershey School, leading and caring for a group of 8–13 students in their own home. The role is a two-person, married-couple position requiring supervision, mentorship, daily routines, medication administration, transportation to activities, and active engagement in student development, including daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. Responsibilities also include budgeting, household reporting, and coordinating developmental/recreational activities. The schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential progression to a Placed Houseparent living arrangement with the same cohort. Relocation assistance is provided, and benefits include comprehensive medical/dental/vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and paid training. Qualifications include experience with youth, a valid U.S. driver's license, ability to drive student vans, and a commitment to a drug- and alcohol-free campus. Both spouses must complete individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
