Job Summary
Houseparents, Full-Time Flex Houseparents live on Milton Hershey School campus in Hershey, PA and work as a two-person married couple to supervise and mentor a group of 8–13 students in a family-like home. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentoring, managing household routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent role in which the couple lives and works with the same student group. Relocation assistance is provided along with comprehensive benefits; salary is $44,768 per person (~$168,000 total per couple).
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for married couples
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- No smoking or weapon on campus
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- No more than three dependent children in home
- Relocation to Hershey, PA
- Full-time availability
- Experience with youth preferred
