Job Summary
Houseparents provide daily supervision, mentorship, and care for 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role begins as a Flex Houseparent living in a student home with a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent in the same student home. Relocation assistance is provided; the position is full-time and requires a legally married two-person couple aged 27 or older, with a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license to drive student vans. The work takes place on campus in Hershey, PA, with benefit packages including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Relocation assistance provided
- On-campus housing and student-home supervision experience preferred
