Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time) for Milton Hershey School serve as a two-person, married couple team living in on-campus student homes to supervise 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel services, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and maintaining a structured, family-like environment. The role initially supports multiple student homes on a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle, with future placement as a dedicated Houseparent in a single student home. Relocation to Hershey, PA is provided, along with comprehensive benefits and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
