Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time) for married couples live on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, supervising and mentoring a group of 8–13 students in an on-campus home. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, accompanying Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting. Nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off during the initial phase, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent role in the same student home. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for married couples
- Legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
