Job Summary
Milton Hershey School is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for groups of 8–13 students, fostering academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting, and household reporting. Initially, couples work a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential placement as a Placed Houseparent living with the same student group. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. Must meet two-person, married-couple eligibility, age 27+, and possess a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and commit to a smoke- and weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Experience working with youth or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Residence in on-campus homes for approximately 8–13 students
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA
- Two-year minimum marriage requirement
- Willingness to undergo required training and certifications
- Ability to manage budgeting and household reporting
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
