Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time) for on-campus student homes serve a two-person, married-couple team to supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines and schedules, supervise medications and student wellness, transport students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, and transition from rotating nine-on/three-off shifts to living with the same student group in a dedicated home. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a legally married two-year partnership, both spouses aged 27 or older, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus. Relocation assistance is provided; on-campus housing and benefits are included. The position emphasizes caring for youth, mentorship, faith-based activities, safety, and full-time residential responsibility in a school environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
- Desire to work in a residential setting with youth
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA or currently assigned location as part of on-campus homes
