Job Summary
Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School and provide daily care, structure, and supervision for a student home. Responsibilities include coordinating wake-up, meals, homework, recreation, and bedtime; supporting students in developing study habits, life skills, and positive character traits; communicating with teachers, health services, and staff to monitor progress; and collaborating with the community to meet student needs. They coach students in conflict resolution and personal responsibility, plan recreational activities and cultural experiences, and help maintain a safe, inclusive living environment. The role requires energy, empathy, patience, organizational skill, and the ability to manage household logistics (meal planning, budgeting for home needs, transportation coordination, and maintaining a clean living space). The position is on-campus with school-provided housing and a schedule balancing on-duty blocks with time off. Candidates should have experience with children/youth and be comfortable working in a multicultural environment, upholding equity, inclusion, and respect.
