Houseparents, Full-Time

Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School to provide daily care, structure, and supervision for a group of students, coordinating routines (wake-up, meals, homework, recreation, bedtime), supporting academics and life skills, and communicating with teachers and health services. The role emphasizes coaching in conflict resolution, social skills, personal responsibility, and maintaining a safe, inclusive living environment. Responsibilities include planning recreational activities, collaborating with staff, coordinating transportation to functions or appointments, budgeting for home needs, and ensuring consistent discipline aligned with school policies. Candidates should have experience with children/youth and be comfortable working in a multicultural, mission-driven setting; strong communication, teamwork, and a collaborative mindset are essential. The position is on-campus with school-provided housing and extended blocks of on-duty time balanced with time off, typically offering a competitive compensation package including housing and training.
