Job Summary

Supervise and support the Environmental Services team by mentoring staff, creating monthly schedules, and tracking overtime and expenses. Enforce cleanliness standards through daily inspections of patient rooms, clinical areas, and public spaces, while reporting deficiencies and safety hazards to senior management. Utilize appropriate chemicals and equipment to perform terminal cleaning and routine maintenance, ensuring compliance with infection control practices and regulatory requirements. Manage supplies, transport hazardous waste, and address work assignments in a timely manner across the facility.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience

  • Ability to order and maintain supplies, as needed
  • Ability to use and maintain equipment properly
  • Ability to enforce and maintain the standards of cleanliness required in a hospital setting
  • Ability to mentor and train the staff
  • Ability to inspect the resulting work product from the EVS team
  • Ability to help the Director of Support Services create work schedules
  • Ability to analyze expenses
  • Ability to record and track overtime
  • Ability to report on the cleanliness of the facility and any deficiencies found
  • Ability to utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
  • Ability to perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and corridors in a clean, neat and sanitary manner
  • Ability to perform terminal/detailed cleaning by following a check list or as instructed by the Infection Prevention Nurse
  • Ability to complete Work Assignments in a timely manner
  • Ability to supervise and support the EVS team
  • Ability to coordinate daily operations
  • Ability to ensure cleaning and sanitation standards are consistently met
  • Ability to help create an environment where patients, residents, employees, and visitors feel safe and welcome
  • Ability to take pride in high standards
