Job Summary
Clean and maintain resident rooms, offices, and common areas including vacuuming, dusting, wiping, mopping, and polishing. Safeguard personal belongings, promptly clean spills and soiled areas, and ensure a safe work environment by following procedures for cleaning agents, hazardous materials, and equipment. Store supplies properly, adhere to infection control and isolation policies, and immediately report hazardous conditions or malfunctioning equipment. Perform floor care duties such as stripping, waxing, and buffing floors, move furniture, and clean storage and exterior areas as assigned. Attend orientation and in-service education programs, comply with resident rights policies, and report incidents timely. Work in a long-term care facility setting with varying care needs, often under pressure, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to interact positively with residents, families, and regulatory agencies, and work collaboratively with employees at all levels.
- Must be able to maintain consistent attendance and be willing to work long or irregular hours, often under pressure.
- Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions necessary to perform job duties effectively.
- Must comply with all local health regulations and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and community agencies.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, reaching, bending, stretching, pulling, and lifting.
- Adequate fine and gross motor coordination to carry out required tasks.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
