Job Summary
Inspect guest rooms and conduct daily floor walks to verify carpets, walls, lights, and linens meet specifications. Select appropriate cleaning materials, instruct staff on policies and equipment use, and re-inspect corrected rooms. Secure issued keys, report maintenance repairs and lost items immediately, and enter room status into the system. Notify room attendants of deficiencies, provide coaching with visual examples, and balance shift paperwork. Maintain personal grooming, comply with New Castle standards, and communicate performance challenges to supervisors. Clean rooms as needed, attend departmental meetings, and connect with the front office manager before shift end.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
- Must be able to convey & understand information and ideas in English
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Must be able to work with and understand basic arithmetic functions
- Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, stoop or reach with your body and arms repeatedly without difficulty
- Ability to stand for long hours and walk long distances without fatigue
- Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to exert 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Must maintain regular attendance in compliance with New Castle standards
- Must maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Must wear the proper business attire and nametag when working
- Must comply at all times with New Castle standards and regulations
- Must be able to effectively handle problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
- Must be able to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from multiple sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
- Must be able to identify differences and similarities, detect changes in circumstances or events and analyze and evaluate results; choosing the best solution to solve problems
