Job Summary
Maintain a clean and safe hospital environment by conducting cleaning in the hospital or any outbuildings, ensuring compliance with regulations to maintain accreditation and licensure. Remove or arrange for removal of safety hazards immediately, keep equipment in clean and working condition, and manage inventory supplies to prevent project shortages. Respond appropriately and immediately in emergency situations, report incidents timely, and communicate specific cleaning needs to supervisors by the end of the scheduled shift. Reorganize schedules as needed to cover other tasks and changes, including winter snow coverage adjustments, while working with departmental teams to complete assignments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred
- Driver's License preferred and ability to provide a good driving record preferred
- Previous health care experience preferred
- Floor maintenance experience a plus but not necessary
- Applicant needs to be a self motivator and work with minimal supervision
- Must have flexibility to cover other shifts as needed for vacation coverage
- Must be able to lift 20 to 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to lift 10 to 25 pounds frequently
- Must be able to lift greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly
- Must be able to frequently reach (extending hands and arms in any direction)
- Must be able to frequently handle (seizing, holding, grasping, turning or working with hands)
- Must be able to frequently stoop (bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist)
