Job Summary

Manage the Housekeeping Department by ensuring daily cleaning programs, room inspections, and large turn days are executed efficiently to maintain high guest satisfaction and audit scores. Respond to all guest requests, complaints, and accidents while monitoring work orders and resolving discrepancies between housekeeping and PMS reports. Motivate, coach, and discipline staff according to SOPs, conduct pre-shift meetings, and balance room status nightly. Assist in preparing schedules, reviewing payroll hours, and maintaining inventory and supply pars. Monitor VIPs, special requests, and out-of-order rooms while ensuring compliance with safety standards and radio etiquette. Maintain open communication with Guest Services and Engineering, and attend weekly department meetings to drive productivity.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
  • 4-year college degree
  • 2-year college degree and 1 or more years of related experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in Windows
  • Proficiency in Company approved spreadsheets
  • Proficiency in word processing
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
  • Ability to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly
  • Ability to maintain constant communication with Guest Services
  • Ability to monitor and act on special requests as needed
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards
  • Ability to maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Ability to comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations
  • Ability to maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions
  • Ability to attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Ability to participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
