Job Summary
Manage a team of 15+ Housekeeping Associates by hiring, training, conducting performance reviews, building schedules, and running weekly payroll. Execute hands-on cleaning duties including dusting, mopping, and maintaining locker rooms while ensuring clean folded towels are always available. Lead facility maintenance by scheduling deep cleans, troubleshooting emergencies like leaks or boiler errors, and coordinating repairs with the Operations Manager. Submit staffing reports, track inventory, manage vendor contracts for laundry and recycling, and collaborate on event operations to maintain financial budgets. Work 30 hours on the floor with flexibility for weekends and holidays in a fast-paced fitness environment.
Required Qualifications
- Prior housekeeping or janitorial experience
- Basic maintenance experience and cleaning machine operation
- Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills; strong team player
- Time- and project-management skills; able to work under limited supervision
- Commitment to exceptional service for members and support for staff
- Flexibility to work varied shifts and overtime
- Neat appearance; punctual and motivated
- Able to lift 50–65 pounds
- Must have the flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule including weekend, holiday and early morning/midday/late evening weekday and overnight availability
- One weekend day a week required
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
- Experience working in fitness club and knowledge of sports and fitness equipment preferred
- OSHA 10 certification, or willing to get certification within 60 days of hire
- Prior management experience, preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite experience, preferred
