Job Summary
Supervise the entire Housekeeping Department, including rooms, front/back of house, and laundry, ensuring all operations meet Aimbridge Hospitality standards. Direct daily inspection of guest rooms, lobbies, hallways, and back-of-house areas while monitoring work orders submitted to Engineering. Manage staff through daily morning meetings, monthly department reviews, and weekly walk-throughs with General Management. Handle payroll compilation, schedule preparation based on business forecasts, and conduct performance appraisals, interviews, and hiring procedures. Maintain key control systems, supply inventories, and purchase order vouchering while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and brand training. Resolve guest complaints, VIP requests, and emergency situations using MSD sheets, balancing room status nightly and addressing discrepancies.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
- 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience
- 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience
- Supervisory experience
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems
- Proficiency in Company approved spreadsheets
- Proficiency in word processing
- Valid driver's license for the applicable state
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to work well in stressful high pressure situations
- Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Ability to be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary
- Ability to assimilate complex information data etc from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
- Ability to be effective at listening to understanding clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests
- Ability to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
