Job Summary
Housekeeping & Maintenance Supervisor for Vancouver Harbour Light who coordinates day-to-day housekeeping and maintenance, assists with hiring/training/scheduling, oversees payroll and leaves, supervises staff, manages inventory, safety plans, and maintenance scheduling, coordinates with service contractors, monitors building systems, and supports renovation and project coordination. Requires OH&S compliance, WHMIS/First Aid/CPR, crisis-intervention and mental health awareness, and a supervisory background in building maintenance. Strong communication, integrity, and a customer-service orientation toward clients experiencing homelessness and substance-use challenges are essential. Wage range reflects a scheduled 37.5-hour workweek with 7.5-hour shifts, including 0.5-hour unpaid meal breaks; compensation commences at $30.35/hour with potential to $31.10/hour, plus benefits and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Building Service Worker, Boilermaker or Building Controls & Energy Management Certificate or Diploma or equivalent
- Current certification in WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and Mental Health First Aid (or willing to be trained)
- Experience in supervisory role in a building maintenance-related environment (1 year)
- Experience with Building Management System (BMS) programs
- Experience with cloud-based inventory system (asset)
