Job Summary
Conduct designated cleaning in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency areas, including disinfecting items, cleaning floors, walls, ceilings, and isolation zones per special standards. Wash and clean equipment, telephones, fixtures, and bathrooms; mop and vacuum carpets; empty trash and dispose of refuse. Perform laundry duties by assisting in the laundry area, mending torn linens, and recording statistical data on poundage and performance logs. Ensure safety and infection control procedures are followed to maintain a clean environment for patients and staff. Report equipment maintenance and supply needs to the Housekeeping Manager. Work primarily days with rotating weekends and holidays, Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with every third weekend required.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED Equivalent
- one to three months related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- ability to communicate effectively with others
- ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- ability to work the hours specified
- every third weekend required
