Job Summary
This role performs cleaning of patient rooms and assigned areas as part of the Environmental Services team to maintain a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing hospital environment. Core duties include dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing; emptying trash, hampers, soiled linen, and medical waste; restocking supplies; maintaining equipment; and supporting special projects such as windows or wall washing. May involve cleaning morgue or COVID-19 units and handling cleaning chemicals; requires effective communication with patients, staff, and visitors. Work schedule is evenings (3 PM–11:30 PM) with weekend and holiday rotation; applies nightly and weekend differentials as applicable. Must pass background check and drug screen; annual flu vaccine required. Minimum qualifications emphasize independent and team work, ability to follow verbal/written instructions, and safety-compliant chemical handling. EEO statements and site-specific policies are noted.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Must be able to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Must be able to communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally
- Must be able to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at time of hire and maintain for duration of employment
