Job Summary
The Housekeeping Aide cleans resident apartments and common areas according to assigned schedules using cleaning and sanitation methods; operates floor care and steam cleaning equipment; strips, scrubs, sprays, and buffs carpet and hard floors; collects and transports garbage; adheres to residence policies and safety rules; prepares documentation as required; respects Resident Rights and Responsibilities; attends in-service training and staff meetings; participates in the Quality Improvement Program; works in a position of trust with vulnerable adults; upholds the organization's ethics and integrity; benefits include accommodation options and opportunities for internal advancement. Must have good English communication, ability to work with minimal supervision, and relevant cleaning experience. The role is located at Birkdale Place, Milton, ON, Canada, and is offered as part-time casual employment.
Required Qualifications
- Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good oral and written English communication skills
- Knowledge and experience with standard institutional cleaning techniques
- Previous experience in commercial / residential/ Healthcare cleaning and laundry procedures is desirable
