Job Summary
Conduct general housekeeping and cleaning duties across offices, resident rooms, restrooms, activity rooms, kitchens, and utility areas to maintain a sanitary, safe, and orderly community environment. Perform emergency housekeeping tasks including deep cleaning fixtures, polishing surfaces, changing linens, and emptying waste baskets. Oversee terminal cleaning for discharged residents and isolation unit procedures according to established protocols. Vacuum and shampoo carpets, replenish supplies, and assist in quarterly inventory processes while adhering to safety guidelines and person-centered care standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, understand and speak the English language
- Must be able to operate/utilize basic housekeeping equipment and supplies
- Must be able to work with other housekeeping assistants, elderly residents, families and other health care staff
- Must be able to adhere to all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience
