Job Summary
Maintains assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, safe and orderly manner to ensure the highest degree of cleanliness; performs routine housekeeping tasks in all areas of the facility with the primary duties being general cleaning; exercises initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods; demonstrates ability to work independently as well as with others; respects confidentiality, embraces cultural diversity, and adheres to facility procedures; may be scheduled for evenings and weekends and may travel to other regional facilities as needed; requires proficiency in English (and bilingual availability for designated positions); handles cleaning chemicals per directions and maintains positive working relationships; in-person role based in Portage la Prairie within Lions Prairie Manor / Douglas Campbell Lodge.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 10 education (Manitoba standard)
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in both official languages is essential for bilingual positions
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to provide vehicle liability insurance
- Ability to handle cleaning chemicals per Manufacturer’s directions and facility procedures
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Good work and attendance record
- Ability to respect confidentiality and diverse populations
- Ability to travel to other regional facilities if required
- Ability to work with equipment and maintain safety and sanitation standards
