Job Summary
Maintain environmental and infection control standards by performing general cleaning tasks in patient and non-patient care areas. Straighten trash, replenish supplies, and clean restrooms, sinks, showers, toilets, and surfaces daily. Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, dust vents, polish furniture, and clean fire extinguishers and ice machines weekly. Coordinate housekeeping services with other departments. Requires less than one year of experience, ability to work independently, and physical capacity to lift over 50 lbs. Day shift schedule at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.
Required Qualifications
- Less than 1 year 1 year of experience working as housing aide
- Ability to adhere to safety procedures and protocols
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment at all times
- Knowledge of methods of cleaning guest rooms and operation of laundry services
- Lift over 50 lbs
- Push/pull up to 140 lbs
- Carry 80 lbs short distances
- Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead
- Multiple shift every other weekend and holidays
