Job Summary
Dust, polish, and clean fixtures; shampoo rugs and furniture; vacuum, mop, and buff floors. Gather and dispose of trash, sharps, and bio-hazard waste; transport soiled linen to designated areas. Clean and disinfect patient rooms and equipment; restock clean linen. Perform terminal cleaning and use UV light on isolation rooms. Operate industrial cleaning equipment including mechanical floor cleaners and vacuums. Maintain janitor closets and carts; ensure safe handling of chemicals. Clean high-touch points in surgical and patient care areas. Respond to department needs by performing other assigned duties. Full-time variable shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Sufficient computer skills
- Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment
- Valid California or Nevada Driver's license (depending on state of employee's residence) or ability to obtain prior to start date
- 3 year DMV Printout showing clean driving record meeting requirements of Barton Liability Insurance Policy
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Ability to change and adjusted to changes schedules
- Ability to operate equipment in a safe manner
- Ability to ensure proper functioning of equipment and follow procedure when equipment malfunctions
- Ability to ensure safe handling and proper use of hospital chemicals
