Job Summary
Conduct thorough cleaning of resident rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas including vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting, and window washing. Remove and replace bed linens, empty wastebaskets, and maintain housekeeping carts in an orderly manner. Perform general pick-up outside duties and assist with any assigned tasks as needed. Maintain a positive attitude while promoting the mission and core values of LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, and the community.
Required Qualifications
- The ability to maintain a clean and neat environment
- Knowledge of cleaning practices and substances
- The ability to identify cleaning needs and safety hazards
- The ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
- Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment
- Visual and auditory acuity
- Ability to lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) lbs.
- Ability to carry objects
- Ability to push and pull carts
- Ability to continuously walk, sit and stand
- Ability to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate
- Ability to use good body mechanics
- Ability to use cleaning equipment, such as mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, buffers, and chemicals in a safe manner
- Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks with consideration for residents, visitors, and any worker in the area
- Ability to project a positive attitude towards the service provided
- Potential exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials
- Potential exposure to handling hazardous chemicals (either Category 1 or 2)
Desired Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- Previous housekeeping experience in health care or hospitality setting
