Job Summary
Conduct thorough cleaning of resident rooms and common areas, including bathrooms, kitchens, carpets, and windows. Vacuum, mop, disinfect, dust, and polish all surfaces while maintaining clean housekeeping carts. Remove, fold, and return bed linens; empty wastebaskets and replace bags. Perform general pick-up outside as needed and fill in for other positions when staff are unavailable. Attend required in-service training and orientations. Maintain a positive attitude and project professionalism while interacting with residents, family, and visitors.
Required Qualifications
- Must have appropriate training and/or background in a similar setting
- Must be able to properly clean residents' rooms and residence common areas
- Must be able to lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) lbs.
- Must be able to carry objects
- Must be able to push and pull carts
- Must be able to continuously walk, sit and stand
- Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height
- Must use good body mechanics
- Must be able to use cleaning equipment, such as mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, buffers, and chemicals in a safe manner
- Must project a positive attitude towards the service provided
- The ability to maintain a clean and neat environment is required
- Knowledge of cleaning practices and substances is required
- The ability to identify cleaning needs and safety hazards is required
- The ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing is required
- Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks with consideration for residents, visitors, and any worker in the area
Desired Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience in health care or hospitality setting is preferred
