Job Summary
Clean and sanitize public areas, rooms, and restrooms; empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal area; replenish supplies. Conduct walk-around inspections of assigned areas to ensure facility standards are met and that linen rooms remain organized. Interact with guests while cleaning guest and meeting rooms, and report maintenance repair problems to a supervisor. Ensure all lost and found items are turned in and logged daily. Perform frequent standing, walking, and lifting duties up to 50 pounds while operating cleaning equipment. Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and M-F shifts with on-call overtime as needed at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Working knowledge of various cleaning utensils, dryers, vacuum cleaners, tools, and fixtures
- Ability to work quickly under pressure and follow instructions
- Ability to make simple addition and subtraction calculations
- Visual acuity is sufficient to inspect the cleanliness of rooms and surfaces
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing of stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and carrying
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- previous commercial cleaning or guest service experience preferred
