Job Summary
Perform daily routine cleaning tasks including trash removal, dusting, wet mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning spills in accordance with facility policy and OSHA guidelines. Collect and bag soiled linen, check assigned areas for neatness, maintain service carts and supplies, and respond to special resident requests. Operate housekeeping equipment safely while following material safety data sheets and biohazard disposal protocols. Complete work records, quality assurance checklists, and verbal or written instructions, submitting incomplete work or issues to the supervisor. Perform non-routine procedures such as washing windows, scrubbing walls, and moving furniture as requested. Work weekends and holidays as scheduled, assisting new employees with facility policies. Maintain a neat office and storage area while ensuring safety for residents, coworkers, and the public.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Must have a thorough knowledge of the policies, procedures, and guidelines for housekeeping procedures of Tsali Care Center and applicable OSHA protocol
- Must be skilled in the use of mechanical and manual cleaning equipment such as buffer, scrubber, vacuum cleaner, mop, broom, and laundry equipment
- Requires the ability to clean and maintain assigned equipment including recharge battery
- Must be familiar with center layout
- Requires the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
- Must have visual acuity, manual dexterity, and be able to speak and hear
- Must use judgment and initiative required to maintain accuracy, quality standards, and complete tasks efficiently
- Consistently demonstrates superior customer service skills to residents/customers by demonstrating characteristics that align with CIHA's guiding principles and core values
- Ensure excellent customer service is provided to all residents/customers by seeking out opportunities to be of service
- Works as scheduled on weekends and holidays
