Job Summary
Perform daily cleaning of resident rooms, recreational areas, hallways, stairways, and elevators, including scrubbing floors, washing bathrooms, polishing fixtures, and vacuuming carpets. Execute terminal cleaning procedures for discharged or transferred residents and maintain strict infection control and fire-safety policies. Report hazardous conditions, equipment failures, and accidents to the supervisor while ensuring all supplies are properly stored and inventory levels are adequate. Work Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday, earning $19-$21 per hour. Maintain confidentiality of resident information and honor personal property.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, and visitors
- Ability to properly use supplies and maintain equipment
- Ability to maintain appearance of housekeeping areas in a safe, clean, and comfortable manner
- Ability to work harmoniously with personnel
- Ability to seek new methods and principles
- Ability to incorporate new methods and principles into housekeeping practices
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
- Ability to follow established fire-safety policies and procedures
- Ability to assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc.
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year experience in a health care facility
