Job Summary
Clean and sanitize common areas, cottages, apartments, and healthcare units to "like new" condition, including cabinets, surfaces, floors, glass, windows, walls, and fixtures. Remove trash from collection areas and exercise waste control while maintaining proper uniform and appearance. Use cleaning chemicals and supplies correctly, complete all work orders timely, and represent the campus positively to foster safety and respect. Maintain HIPAA confidentiality standards, respond to medical emergencies, and assist with resident evacuations if required. Travel occasionally for training and attend in-services as needed. Interact professionally with marketing tours and prospective residents while handling complaints constructively.
Required Qualifications
- Janitorial or maintenance experience
- Ability to work with minimal and close supervision
- Ability to conduct all business with a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to use hand tools, carts and dollies
- Ability to work outdoors and indoors during the work day
- Climb up to two flights of stairs
- Lift objects of 25 pounds or less over the head
- Move objects of 40 pounds or more
- Ability to work under time-sensitive or stressful situations
- Respond to medical emergencies on a rare occasion
- Assist with resident evacuations, if ever required
Desired Qualifications
- Technical certification from a janitorial program
- Two years experience in a similar housekeeping position
