Job Summary
Thoroughly clean all assigned guestrooms according to brand standards, maintain inventory of every item, and communicate room status to the supervisor. Report lost and found items, damaged goods, or unusual circumstances such as missing luggage immediately to management. Properly use cleaning agents, follow key control procedures, and handle dirty linens safely while restocking the housekeeping cart. Assist guests with questions and requests, adhere to grooming codes, and execute emergency procedures. Operate equipment including vacuums and dishwashers, work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and climb stairs or stoop as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to understand the proper use of equipment and chemicals and verbal instructions
- Knowledge of proper cleaning agent handling and safety procedures
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Able to operate equipment such as, but not limited to, garbage disposal, vacuum cleaner, self-cleaning oven, icemaker, and dishwasher
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to see well enough to read reports, drive, and use a computer
- Must be able to hear well enough to communicate on the phone and in person
- Must be able to stand to operate office machinery
- Must be able to move between departments
- Must be able to climb four flights of stairs
- Must be able to stoop and kneel for short periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Able to write (sign keys in/out, fill out work orders, etc.)
- Must be able to carry out hotel emergency procedures
- Arrives for assigned shift on time
