Job Summary
The Housekeeper cleans and services all areas of the hospital and all buildings owned by the hospital, arranges furniture in an organized and orderly fashion, and maintains cleanliness of equipment and storage areas. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities. Requires ability to read and write, follow directions, operate cleaning equipment, clean blood and body fluids, replenish supplies, and meet physical requirements including lifting up to 30 pounds. On-the-job training provided; prior cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and write and follow written and oral directions.
- Cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.
- Must know how to use cleaning equipment (i.e. vacuum cleaner)
- Ability to clean blood and body fluids.
- Ability to clean furniture, windows, restrooms, walls and dust mop and damp mop hard surface floors.
- Must be able to replenish all paper supplies, waste can liners and handle hazardous chemicals correctly.
- Physical Requirements: Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include standing, bending, stooping, and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
